Pianist Anna Cardona is the winner of the MBF prize at the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier competition in 2010, the winner of the duo prize at the Toulouse French melodies competition in 2013 (with soprano Clara Meloni), and was selected to be the one of the artists (along with baritone Victor Sicard) at the Oxford Lieder Festival in the UK. She won the Guildhall Gold Medal Companion Award in 2013. In 2012, she won with the baritone Victor Sicard the 23rd international competition Paper de Musica in Barcelona.
She was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, and studied at the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Musica in Barcelona. In 2004 she moved to London to study solo piano with Peter Bithell and piano accompaniment with Eugene Asti and Pamela Lidiard at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She will obtain a Bachelor's degree in piano solo, a master's degree in piano solo as well as a master's degree in piano accompaniment. She has since become a professional pianist at this great school of music, the Guildhall School.
Anna participated in masterclasses given by Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, Malcolm Martineau, Sir Thomas Allen, Paul Lewis… and was invited to the Young Songmakers Almanac Master Classes 2008 and 2011, Lieder Leeds Festival 2009 and The Samling Foundation Masterclasses 2010.
